====== Display Screens ======

===== Overview =====

**Display Screens** are physical digital displays (TVs, monitors, kiosks) managed through the platform. Each screen shows a rotating set of content — lessons, materials, KeyRings, or custom announcements.

===== Creating a Display Screen =====

  - Navigate to **Educator → Display Screens** (''educator/displayscreens.php'')
  - Click **New Display Screen**
  - Enter: name, venue/location, capacity (for seating information), and optional schedule
  - Save — the screen is created and ready for content assignment

===== Managing Display Items =====

Each screen shows a playlist of items. To manage:
  - Open the screen → **Manage Items** (''educator/displayscreen-manage.php'')
  - **Add Item** (''educator/displayitem-input.php'') — select a lesson, material, or KeyRing
  - Set display duration (how long each item shows before rotating)
  - Drag items to reorder the playlist
  - Remove items by clicking the delete icon

===== Viewing a Screen =====

**Single Display View** (''educator/displayscreen-single.php'') renders the screen's content full-screen:
  * Open this URL on the physical display's browser
  * Content rotates automatically on the configured timer
  * Suitable for lobby displays, waiting areas, and learning resource centres

===== Screen Settings =====

  - **Screen Settings** (''educator/displayscreen-select.php?a=settings'') — edit name, venue, capacity
  - **Delete Screen** (''educator/displayscreen-select.php?a=delete'') — remove a screen and its items

===== Organisation-Level Screens =====

Organisations can also manage their own display screens independently:
  * Navigate to the organisation → **Display Screens**
  * Create and manage screens within the organisation's scope
  * Requires **Display Screen Settings** and **Display Screen Items** permissions (see [[admin:permissions|Permissions]])
