Question Bank
Frequently reused questions can be saved to the Question Bank:
- When creating a question, tick Save to Question Bank
- Reuse from the bank by clicking Insert from Question Bank in any quiz
The Question Bank is also used as the source for Pool Quizzes (see below).
Pool Quiz (Randomised Draw)
A Pool Quiz draws a random subset of questions from a Question Bank category each time a learner starts. Every session presents different questions in a different order, preventing rote memorisation of a fixed question set.
Setting Up a Pool Quiz
- Populate a Question Bank category with MCQ questions (minimum: more questions than the draw size)
- Open the quiz and navigate to Quiz Settings → Pool Config
- Select the source Question Bank category
- Set the draw size (how many questions to present per session)
- Enable Randomise question order and Randomise answer order (recommended)
- Save
When a learner opens a quiz with a pool configuration, they are directed to the pool quiz runner automatically.
How It Works for Learners
- A fresh question set is drawn at the start of each new session
- Immediate per-question feedback is shown after each answer
- The correct answer is revealed on incorrect responses, along with any explanation you provided when authoring the question
- Score accumulates live throughout the session
Attempt Controls
Pool quizzes respect the same attempt limits and cooldown settings as standard quizzes – configured in the main quiz settings panel.
Comparison: Standard Quiz vs Pool Quiz
| Feature | Standard Quiz | Pool Quiz |
|---|---|---|
| Question source | Fixed list | Random draw from category |
| Answer feedback | Configurable (immediate / end of quiz / not shown) | Always immediate, per question |
| Session uniqueness | Same questions each attempt | Different questions each session |
| Marking | Auto or manual | Auto-marked MCQ only |
Marking Schemes
- Auto-marked: multiple choice, multiple select, true/false
