Roll Call

Overview

The Roll Call module records attendance for scheduled sessions. Attendance records are date-stamped and stored per-learner per-session.

Taking a Roll Call

  1. Navigate to your class → Roll Call → New Session
  2. Date and time default to now (editable)
  3. Enter a session name or topic (optional)
  4. The class list loads — mark each learner as:
Status Meaning
Present Attended the session
Late Arrived late
Absent — Excused Absent with a valid reason
Absent — Unexcused Absent without explanation
  1. Add a note per learner if needed
  2. Click Submit Roll Call

Editing a Past Roll Call

  1. Navigate to Roll Call → History
  2. Select the session to edit
  3. Update attendance statuses or notes
  4. Save — the edit is logged with your name and timestamp

Roll Call Reports

  1. Navigate to Roll Call → Reports
  2. View: attendance summary by learner (total present / absent / late counts)
  3. Filter by date range
  4. Export as CSV for registers or external reporting requirements

Permissions Required

  • Taking roll call: Roll Call — Create permission
  • Editing past sessions: Roll Call — Update permission
  • Viewing reports: Roll Call — Report permission
