Badges & Achievements
What are Open Badges?
LEAST issues Open Badges — digital credentials that are cryptographically signed and publicly verifiable. Each badge you earn contains your name, the issuing organisation, the criteria you met, and a tamper-proof digital signature. You can share badges on LinkedIn, add them to your CV, or import them into a badge wallet.
Viewing Your Badges
- Navigate to My Badges (or Profile → Badges)
- All earned badges are displayed with: badge name, issuer, date earned, and criteria
- Click any badge to see its full details and sharing options
Sharing a Badge
Each badge has a unique public URL — the Assertion URL. Anyone who visits this URL can verify the badge is genuine.
To share:
- LinkedIn: click Add to LinkedIn Profile — LEAST pre-fills the credential fields
- Copy link: click Copy Badge URL to share via email or messaging
- Download: save the badge image (contains embedded metadata) for inclusion in documents
Importing into a Badge Wallet
LEAST badges are Open Badges v2.0 compliant and can be imported into any compatible wallet:
- Badgr — paste the assertion URL to import
- Open Badge Passport — import via assertion URL
- LinkedIn — use the Add Credential flow
Earning Badges
Badges are awarded by your educator or administrator when you meet the defined criteria. Common criteria:
- Completing a course or module
- Passing a quiz above a threshold score
- Completing a specific number of lessons
- Demonstrating a competency in a review
Some badges are issued automatically (e.g. on quiz pass); others are issued manually by your educator after review.
Revoked Badges
In rare cases, a badge may be revoked (e.g. if it was issued in error). Revoked badges appear in your My Badges page with a Revoked label. The public assertion URL returns a revoked status when verified. Contact your educator if you believe a badge was revoked incorrectly.
