Taking Quizzes

1. Navigate to the quiz from your course pathway or the assessments list
2. Read the instructions: number of questions, time limit (if any), pass mark, and number of attempts allowed
3. Click Start Quiz

• Multiple choice — select one answer
• Multiple select — tick all correct answers
• True / False — select True or False
• Short answer / Essay — type your response in the text box

The question counter shows your position (e.g. “Question 4 of 10”).

If there is a time limit, a countdown timer displays in the top right. The quiz submits automatically when the timer reaches zero.

You can navigate between questions using Previous and Next. Unanswered questions are highlighted in the question navigation panel.

1. Click Submit Quiz when you have answered all questions
2. You are asked to confirm before the quiz is submitted
3. Once submitted, you cannot change your answers

After submitting:

• Your score and pass/fail status are shown immediately
• For auto-marked questions (multiple choice, true/false), you see which answers were correct
• For manually marked questions (short answer, essay), results appear after your educator has marked them
• Feedback and explanations (if configured by your educator) are shown per question

• If retakes are allowed, a Retake Quiz button appears after your results
• If a cooldown period is set, you must wait the specified time before retaking
• Your best score is usually shown in your progress report (check with your educator for your organisation's policy)

A quiz may be locked if:

• You haven't completed the preceding lesson(s) in the course pathway
• You have used all your allowed attempts
• You are within a cooldown period after a recent attempt

Contact your educator if you believe a quiz is locked in error.
